Sammasati Retreat’s 200 Hour Multi-style Yoga Teacher Training is designed to help curious and passionate students to strengthen their self-practice and safely teach Yoga to others. The Teacher Training emphasizes on core syllabus of 200 Hours Yoga Teacher Training including Asana, Yoga Philosophy, Pranayama, Bandhas, Kriya, Anatomy, Physiology, Meditation, Karma Yoga and teaching Skills. This course is the perfect blend of traditional and modern approaches to Yoga.

  • 10:30 am – 1:00 pm – Yoga Philosophy/Meditation
  • 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm – Lunch Break
  • 2:30 – 5:30 pm – Anatomy/Asana Class
  • 7:00 – 7:40 pm – Dinner
  • 8:00 – 9:30 pm – Evening activities two times a week. Classes on Saturday till 1 pm, Sunday off.

200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Course Syllabus – Sammasati Retreat

Asanas (poses): Studying and practicing asanas with safety, correct alignment, their benefits, and precautions. The practice and study of standing, sitting postures, forward bends and hip openers, sitting twists, inversions, back-bends, hand-balancing, and Restorative yoga. Asana practice develops physical health by stretching, massaging and cleansing the internal organs, and stimulating the energy flow through the entire body.

Safety in Asana Practice: Sammasati Retreat will teach you specific ways to correct student postures without injuring yourself or the student, how to challenge without pushing stretches too far, alternative poses, and other ways to prevent injuries.

Sequencing and teaching a Yoga Class: Students will learn how to sequence the classes for a different level of participants. Teaching practice in a real class environment. Students will be able to use their communication skills, demonstration, hands-on adjustments and ability to sequence a class. Lead Teacher will share constructive feedback.

Teaching skills and methodology: Sammasati Retreat covers the most effective and practical ways to teach yoga. Teacher skills such as observation, presence, voice, instructions, adjustments, demonstration and teaching from the heart.

Pranayama, mudras, and bandhas: The pranayama refers to breathing exercises for maintaining good health. The mudras are particular positions of the hands and the body done to establish individual energy patterns, similar to electrical circuits, and the bandhas are techniques used in Hatha Yoga as a lock to activate the chakras and Kundalini energy.

Anatomy, Physiology: Anatomy helps to understand various body parts and systems such as digestive, muscular, respiratory, etc. The theories of compression, tension, proportion, and orientation will be demonstrated and studied. In Physiology chakras (energy centers), mudras (“the yoga of the hands”), Nadis (energy channels), bandhas(locks for channeling energy), and Kundalini energy will be discussed and practiced.

Asana names in Sanskrit: Students can get familiar with Sanskrit names of asanas from Prereading material they receive after booking the course.

Meditations and Yognidra: An active meditations like mindful walking, breathing, dancing deal directly with the tensions of contemporary life and leave us feeling alert, refreshed and energized. Passive meditations like vipassana sitting silently and the breath, thoughts, and emotions with detachment. Yoga Nidra: Yoga Nidra is a guided by the teacher. It releases the tension from the body and mind and takes into deep relaxation.

Shatkriyas (Shatkarmas): Kriyas are special cleansing techniques in Hatha Yoga to detox the body mind and preparing it for better Yoga practices. Shatkriyas also purify the energy channels and introverts the mind for meditation.

Yoga Philosophy: Studying history and tradition of Yoga, styles of Yoga understanding ancient Yogic texts. Philosophy teacher will explain Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Bhagwadgita.
Eight limbs of Ashtanga yoga:
1. Yama: deals with one’s ethical standards and sense of integrity of how the practitioner relates to one’s external environment
2. Niyama: deals with self-discipline and spiritual observances, how the practitioner refers to one’s internal world
3. Asana: physical postures
4. Pranayama: breathing practices
5. Pratyahara: sensory withdrawal
6. Dharana: concentration as a preparation for meditation
7. Dhyana: state of meditation or contemplation
8. Samadhi: self-realization

Ethics and Yogic lifestyle for teachers and students: Working from the outside ethics of the Yamas, as described in the yoga sutras. You will explore through interactive discussion what an ethical lifestyle means for a yoga teacher, defining guiding principles and codes of conduct.

Yoga as a business: Practical tips for starting and marketing your yoga business so that it is successful. Essential elements include marketing strategies, promotion, websites, and networking.

The Standard Room is a compact and comfortable for a single occupant. Sitting in private patio you can enjoy the mountain view.

Pool Access Room

The room with pool access has a clean and open design. With a private balcony, it provides a quite sitting area with personal space.

With big glass doors to the private balcony, the room provides a stunning ocean view over Kata and the Andaman Sea.
